On September 11th, Bob’s youngest daughter Kelly helped her American Legion Auxiliary Post 280 in East Pasadena, California deliver food to first responders in Pasadena, Altadena and Arcadia. With the money raised at the June 3rd bowling fundraiser, Bob Brinker Memorial Veterans Foundation purchased the take-out food containers for 200 first responders and – with help from PetCo in Burbank – Kong toys (Made in the USA) and treats for the 6 K9s in service in Pasadena.
Unfortunately, not enough food was delivered to feed all 200 so BBMVF was happy to step in and help buy additional food items at Smart and Final in Pasadena. In addition, when Kelly found out there was a new puppy in the Pasadena K9 unit, she went to the nearest pet store, Petsmart, and with their assistance, bought an additional Kong toy and treats.
It is through generous donations at our events and discounts provided by stores like Petco and Petsmart that we are able to help out veterans associations like the American Legion and provide meals and treats for the first responders in remembrance of September 11th.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
