Bob loved animals. Dogs, cats, fish, turtles, guinea pigs and even a caiman crocodile, there was always a pet, or two or more, in the Brinker home. For Bob, his pets were members of the family and trusted companions that remained by his side through the difficult moments in life. This is why we feel Bob would have been a big supporter of the Pets for Patriots, an organization that helps veterans and shelter animals.
According to their website, the Pets for Patriots vision is to “end animal homelessness in the United States while giving our military veterans and their families the greatest ‘thank you’ of all: the extraordinary love of a companion pet.”
For veterans interested in adopting a shelter animal through the Pets for Patriots program, there is a step-by-step breakdown on how the program works. Click HERE to learn more and see if you qualify.
For those who would like to donate, there is a breakdown on their DONATION page that explains what different amount cover. For example, a $50 donation will help increase the visibility of pets who are overlooked at the shelters, $150 will provide food and basics for one adopted pet and a $250 donation will fully fund a veteran-pet adoption.
If Bob had known about this organization, we know, without a doubt, that he would make this one of this favorite veterans organizations to donate funds to and we will now be donating a portion of funds raised at each of our events in his honor to this amazing program. We also encourage others to donate in his memory.
