Christmas was Bob’s favorite time of year. He loved playing Santa, especially to those who were less fortunate. So this year, we, the Brinker family, decided to keep his Santa legacy alive and buy gifts for all the homeless veterans seeking assistance at the Vets Returning Home (VRH) facility in Roseville, Michigan.
Tonight, December 29, 2015, we stopped by the facility and delivered gifts to the forty people at VRH. We donated a Keurig coffee maker, five boxes of coffee k-cups, 2 boxes of sugar packets, a box of individual creamers, powdered creamer and baskets for holding the coffee supplies to be used by all who stay at the VRH facility. We also purchased insulated lunch packs with a thermos, travel coffee mug, hand warmers and Christmas stocking goodies for each of the thirty-five guys currently at the facility. In addition, we purchased insulated lunch packs with tupperware, travel coffee mug, travel soup mug, hand warmers and Christmas stocking goodies for the five women currently at the facility. And thanks to our Knit-a-thon, we were able to provide handmade scarves to everyone at VRH.
Bob left behind some really large shoes to fill but we know we made him proud this holiday season. Thank you to everyone who helped us continue his Santa legacy.
